Description Our growing client is seeking a cost accountant to join their team. This critical Cost Accountant role is responsible for the ongoing analysis of product cost, development of new product cost and margin analysis. This role will also work closely with the sales teams and senior financial management team to establish customer pricing. This position is for a talented Cost Accountant looking for a company experiencing substantial growth.

Responsibilities

• Create reports that specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products or services

• Analyze and recommend costs and cost savings

• Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements

• Develop and maintain the cost accounting system, documents, and records of the organization

• Interpret data collected and record detailed results

• Monitor the cycle count program and conduct physical inventories

• Perform variance analysis such as Purchase Price to Cost variance, cost revaluation, Invoice to PO price variances and work order variances

• Analyze any changes in goods or services provided in order to determine what effect it has on the cost

• Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs

• Implement standardized costing methodology for all domestic plants

• Decide costs of business activity, including raw material purchases, inventory, and labor usage, waste

• Assist in audits and general ledger preparation

• Perform internal cost audits

• Make estimates of new and proposed product costs Requirements - Strong understanding of organizational accounting concepts

• Bachelors degree in accounting or related field

• Excellent attention to detail

• Understanding of cost management methodologies, activities, and cost pools based on direct and indirect cost rates

• Proficient at analyzing financial data and promptly creating accurate reports

• 2 years of Cost Accounting work experience

• High analytical and extremely detailed
