What we want

The Research Assistant plays a key part in conducting experiments, collecting data, and assisting with various research projects aimed at understanding brain function and related disorders.

What you need to know

Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire’s experience.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in neuroscience, biology, psychology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present research findings effectively.

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced research environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in neuroscience, biology, psychology, or a related field.

  • Previous experience in a research laboratory setting, preferably in neuroscience or a related discipline.

  • Familiarity with experimental techniques such as microscopy, electrophysiology, molecular biology, or behavioral assays is desirable.

Responsibilities:

  • Data Collection and Analysis: Conducts experiments under the supervision of senior researchers, including data acquisition using techniques such as electrophysiology, imaging, or behavioral assessments. Organizes and analyzes collected data using statistical methods and software tools.

  • Experimental Design and Setup: Assists in designing experiments and setting up laboratory equipment and materials for data collection. This may include preparing solutions, calibrating instruments, and ensuring proper experimental protocols are followed.

  • Lab Maintenance: Maintains cleanliness and organization of the lab space; orders and manages supplies, equipment maintenance. Ensures compliance with safety protocols and regulations.

  • Collaboration and Communication: Works collaboratively with other team members, including scientists, technicians, and graduate students. Communicates research findings effectively through written reports, presentations, and discussions.
