Job Description

Responsibilities:-Manage land, facilities and infrastructure associated with the Farm Service Dept. at the TAMU Research Farm located on FM 60 in Burleson County.-Inspect and maintain irrigation systems, roads and drainage systems, buildings and grounds, and fences. Prepare budgets and submit plans for any repairs or upgrades to previous items.-Supervise any farm employees in association with the above duties.-Oversee the preparation of land for seeding research test plots and production acres according to the requests of clients. Determine the equipment and personnel needed to perform tillage, seeding , spraying, and irrigation tasks for all land and research projects.-Perform other job related duties, including duties related to the research farm as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:-Computer competencies required. Strong service ethic and desire to work with all audiences in assigned county, regardless of socioeconomic level, race, color, sex, religion, disability or national origin. Ability to communicate effectively.

Registrations, Certifications, and Licenses:Acquire and maintain a TDA non-commercial pesticide applicator license.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Five years of related experience.. Three years of supervisory experience

Other Requirements:Travel connected with official duties may be required. This may include attendance at night and/or weekend meetings, participation in out-of-county events. Must have willingness to work necessary hours to fulfill job responsibilities (some evenings and weekends).
