SUMMARY:
The Department of Management and Economics at Texas A&M University-Commerce invites applications for a non-tenure-track Instructor position to teach business communications and project management for the 2024-2025 academic year. A Master’s degree in business administration, communications, or related field with a minimum of 18 graduate level hours in business is required. The successful applicant should have a strong interest or demonstrated experience in teaching business communications.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teach undergraduate courses at different times, locations, and modalities (in-person and online)
Provide instruction and guidance to students on resume writing, cover letter composition, and building professional LinkedIn profiles
Guide students through the PMP and/or CAPM certification process
Advise and mentor undergraduate students
Ensure and stimulate student learning and engagement in and outside the classroom
Assist students with networking and building relationships with industry professionals
Work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students to implement departmental programs
Provide service to the department, college, university, public schools, and community
Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Master’s degree in business or a closely related field from an accredited institution with a minimum of 18 graduate level hours in business
Experience in teaching resume writing, cover letter composition, and LinkedIn profile development
Excellent written and spoken communication skills
PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:
Experience in online course delivery
Experience in teaching in an active learning environment and with innovative teaching strategies
Prior relevant professional work experience
Professional credentials, particularly in communications and project management
