This position ensures the efficient handling of students and paperwork pertaining to in-school suspension assignments, with clear and concise parent/student/staff communication.

The ISS Monitor position isresponsible for ensuring that students that are placed in the In-School Suspension Program work on study habits, classroom behavior skills, and a positive self-image.

Works cooperatively and maintains effective relationships with students, parents, district personnel and the\ general public, as is applicable to the position.

Responds with tact and courtesy in public or telephone contact situations and provides information requiring a\ knowledge of district policies and procedures.

Composes correspondence independently using proper business English, grammatical usage and punctuation.

Obtains and assigns class work for students in ISS, including keeping a current file of teachers lesson plans for\ each week.

Assists students with assignments while in ISS, and ensures that all behavioral rules as defined for said room are\ followed.

Assists students with online and/or other credit recovery programs.

Processes all paperwork necessary to maintain student discipline files, including filing and use of the current\ computer, and word processing programs.

Prepares state reports as necessary.
