Work involves repairing mechanical units; performing preventive maintenance activities; and performing servicing work on automotive equipment and related gasoline, diesel, or alternative fuel (natural gas) and (Propane) engine-powered equipment. Works under moderate supervision with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Essential Job FunctionsAttends work on a regular basis and may be required to work a specific shift schedule or, at times, even a rotating schedule, extended shift and/or overtime in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned1. Adjusts brakes and carburetors.2. Installs front wheel bearings, speed heads, radiators, and universal joints.3. Services vehicles, refuels, and changes oil. and#149; Cleans shop, equipment, and tools.4. Keep up to date on Preventative maintenance schedules.5. Tire repairs and changes.6. May operate electronic or computerized diagnostic equipment and computer-based technical manuals to identify or verify system and component failures.7. May inventory parts and equipment.8. Performs related work as assignedOther duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agencyand#146;s obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation.
